Where can I find the basic device driver for HP Scanjet 2400?

Question

It used to run fine with my pc (OS win xp) but as my pc has gone bust, I need it to work on my laptop (OS Win 7 64bit). It won't work. It says "driver not installed" the disc that worked with xp won't work with the laptop. I tried downloading from HP Support site about a hundred times but when I run the file a pop-up says "File is Corrupted". Tried emailing HP Support but they keep saying try downloading again. I keep trying but their site says file is 2.6mb size, downloading stops before 1.5mb... tried telling them it may actually be corrupted but they keep saying "try downloading again"
Help pls. I have been at it for days and I am quite ready to cry!!!

their file can't be corrupted

i think that your connection isn't good and stops sometimes and this stops the download as well.

Try to download it when you don't have other applications and programs open.

Also it is a good idea if you "save" it on your computer and then open it

If that fails too, then ask someone else to download it for you in his/her computer and then yo give it to you via email

Type into your browser hp.com then hp support assistant then simply follow through it will bring you to a list from there you can take a driver update
