if you have a small amount of pictures, you can use a standard flatbed scanner to do the job.

If you have lots of pictures, and you are very organized, take the 35mm negatives to develop to a photo CD, that will save you some time, and they will have higher quality compared to scanning.

Last and most expensive solution will be to buy a scanner with a photo feeder, that will allow you to scan the photos with relative ease, but expect to expend 200 USD or more. A good photo feed scaner is the Epson Perfection 2480 (jabout 150 on ebay with the photo feeder!!!).

The simple way of doing this is to purchase a quality flatbed scanner and scan and save the pictures yourself. If you have many pictures to scan you might call around to a few photo studios and see what they would charge to do this for you. I agree that to save time and money in the longrun buy a digital camera for the future.

SCAN the pictures, if there are not many just go to a library or somewhere with a scanner and scan them. If there are alot of pictures buy a scanner. AND if you want you can use a digital camera and take a picture of the pictures. I know it sounds dumb, but I tried it just now and it works!
