Honestly, its better to replace the scanner if it is truly broken. Mustek is a cheaper brand and IF you can repair it at all it will be more expensive than simply replacing it. Maybe you can detail the problem or symptoms here and I can help you determine if its a simple fix or not.

Instead of throwing it away, list it on eBay or other auction site, and describe honestly how it's broken. The title should say right out: "Broken Mustek Scanner blah blah..."



It'll be worth something to somebody who tinkers with hardware, and needs it for parts. You won't get much for it--that's for sure, but at least you can feel good about it being recycled, and not throwing away something that still has value to someone.
