I have an HP 4500 scanner with a 51-1 error, can anyone answer what the error stands for and how to repair?

I used to work for HP and I think that error has something to do with the motor is not functioning properly. Sorry I cant be more help.

If the number "00" or a flashing number appears in the LCD, the number is an error code. It indicates that a problem exists with the scanner hardware.

anything other then 00 or 22 you will need to contact HP
