Judging by the fact you seem to have gotten a question 'save as draft?' I'm guessing you're using outlook and got the message when closing the window. If this is the case, then there isn't a way to retrieve the message.

If you never saw a prompt asking to save, maybe your message was sent (some people set their program to spell check before sending and the message sends immediately after the check completes): look in sent items (if you have the option to save messages there on).
