One day my scanner stopped working. Is it broke? Maybe someone can tell me. I discovered that the scanner was no longer installed on computer. I tried to re-install it. Using the disc that came with the scanner I was informed " This software does not support Windows 95 or NT. It requires Windows 98." I have Windows XP. Ever since then, whenever I turn the computer on, I get this message. "This program updates your HP scanning software. You may see a message about 'Digital Signature Not Found'. You must click 'Yes' for the update to install correctly." I click on the OK button but do not get the message mentioned. Also, nothing is installed. All that happens is that this message pops up again. It is very annoying so when it happens I just move it off the page as far as I can. Please help me if you can.

Go to the scanner manufacturer site and see if there is a driver for your scanner compatible with the operating system that you are using.

I have had to replace a couple of scanners because of a lack of drivers for upgraded operating systems.

Find the .exe file on your PC ( I presume you have installed the software)

When you have found the actual program that starts the scanner software.

Right click on that file and make it run compatible for Windows 98

It might work for you.
