Ok so i turned on my computer and hit the mozilla button then on the main page, it said that viruses could harm the computer if i continued browsing, but to protect it i should click a link.
When i did click the link, it said i could download Perfectprotection2009 and i did
i had the firewall up and everything then it asked if i wanted to allow it or block the IP address from (PP2009). And i thought it was odd it asked me that seeing it was to remove viruses, so i searched online and found out it was a fake. I want to uninstall it, how can i do that??

&&
I downloaded superantispy and malwarebytes and did scans and removed a few viruses.
But whats really annoying is that this software Sinowal.Trojan is being blocked by the firewall and it suggested to enable protection, when i click that i get sent to the same page with perfectprotection2009 to purchase it--Im asking if this Sinowal.trojan virus is really a scam to have me purchase perfect pretection 2009 and how can i get rid of it? it gets annoying, Please help!

this happened to many people last night including myself, around 18:30EST. it took me a while to figure it out... fortunately it's not sinowal.trojan, but an adware virus called spyware.ispynow.

for some reason, the anti-virus programs out there are having a hard time finding it, but you can probably find it on your PC by looking here:

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Google

the file should be 5 letter, 7 digit code, accompanied by the "windows firewall" icon. mine was: ggqjh225xxxx.exe (i forget the other digits). the popular ones seem to be: runhh6110411.exe, and: xtgoj6119471.exe

to delete the file you will have to reboot in "safe mode", then go to the address above and delete the file. no anti-virus software required.

hope this helps. i know a lot of people have been burned by this today.

Superantispy and malwarebytes are scams. These fake anti virus programs are actually the virus in disguise, asking you to pay them to infect your system even more. The only anti virus solution that I have seen that is able to remove this bad of an infection is Avast. Go to their website, download the home edition (free, just register it) and then look up how to do a boot scan on their website. This scan can take up to two hours depending on how much data you have on your computer, but this is the best solution that I can offer besides backing up your data and re-imaging your computer.

nnylemy: Your answer is completely wrong. SuperAntispyware and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware are 2 of the best malware/spyware removal programs available.

Justin: Good Job! I've had to remove this from 2 customer systems so far and your answer worked on both of them. Thanks!
