I have 1,000’s of photographs that I want to scan. Some may be 5X7. I’d like a scanner that I could drop or slide the photos into. A full sized flat bed scanner is too cumbersome when scanning so many photos one at a time.

I looked for something like this myself recently.
I did find one but it was too much fiddling around.
You had to remove a cartridge, open it, insert the picture into the cartridge, close it, insert the cartridge into the scanner body, scan it, repeat....... yawn
In the end I settled on a Canon LIDE scanner which is A4 flatbed - but it will scan multiple photos at the same time. So for example you can put 3 6X4 pics onto the scanner, press one button on the front of the scanner, and it will then copy them very quickly to 3 separate image files on the PC with no further commands needed.
My wife has now done hundreds of photos from our family collection and it is very quick and easy to use.

HHHMM. I thought about the same problem at one time then realized that I could place a number of photos on the same bed at the same time. The scanner can be set to scan any dimension. But I chose to set it at 81/2 * 11. This allows at least 4 photos to be scanned in a single pass. Then I just do cutouts in my imaging software. But yes you can buy a scanner for 4*6, but what will you do with the 5*7?
