what is the best flatbed scanner on the market that is Mac compatible?

I need to get a flatbed scanner and just wanted to know which will give me the best quality scan. What are some things I should look for or keep in mind

You could get an HP scanner. They scanners are great but the software aren't so great. Many people say it has bugs but I haven't experienced one myself.
