i have HP laser jet M1005 MFP printer+scanner. the printer is working fine, but the scanner is showing an error msg "Scanner Error 12". i have uninstalled & re installed the software (i have also turned off & on the machine) but the same problem exists. what do i do now?

Uninstall all the software and once this is done, power on the scanner, remove the USB cable and start a new setup installation.

Let the program tell you when to re-connect the USB cable to the computer. Let it finish and reboot computer to complete the installation.



Go in control panel and click on Scanners and Cameras and you will see the HP icon there. Click it to activate the scanner and a menu will pop up. Scan from that menu.

Use the display screen on the MFP.

Press button 'MENU'

Enter '<' or '>' buttons till you get the menu for 'SERVICE'.

Enter to 'RESTORE DEFAULT'

Wait till the action is completed and the display screen changes to 'READY'
